Hey there, Scott! Welcome to planDisney!
It looks like you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort in just a few short weeks! Woo-hoo! My husband and I recently stayed at
Disney's Yacht Club Resort and had a blast. We enjoyed a few appetizers and cocktails at
Ale & Compass Lounge and stopped by the famous
Stormalong Bay Pool when the sun came out!
First things first- I greatly admire the depth of your planning! I do see your dilemma. The walk from Disney's Yacht Club Resort to
Disney's Hollywood Studios is one mile and generally takes about 20 minutes. In my personal opinion, your plan is ambitious but doable. Now, this plan doesn't leave you with much wiggle room to make your
Disney Genie+ reservation and still arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios entrance by 7:20 a.m. You will certainly need to walk at an above-average pace in order to make it by 7:20 a.m. If you are more of a leisurely walker, have children in your party or don't want to rush to get there, you may need to consider a plan B.
With that in mind, it is important to note that you do not have to be connected to WiFi in order to make a Genie+ selection. You will be reserving most of your selections in the park throughout the day, so you could approach your first selection similarly. It is possible to make your Genie+ selection during the walk over to the park!
I do hope I've helped answer your question. If you waste no time and walk like you're racing for the Piston Cup, I think you may be able to make both dreams come true! I wish you the best of luck!
ChEARS,
Ashley
