We are staying at the Yacht Club Resort for the Princess Half Marathon. Is the starting line an easy walk from the hotel, or should we plan on using resort transportation?

    Hi, Melissa!

I hope you are getting excited for Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend! I can't believe this royal event is almost upon us.

Excellent choice on staying at Disney's Yacht Club Resort for your fairytale weekend. You are right in the heart of the action near Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Epcot Resorts Area is one of my favorite locations in all of Walt Disney World® Resort, and my number one choice in resort locations during a race weekend.

With regard to getting to the starting line on race morning you will need to take the provided race transportation to the Start Zone. There is actually no access to the starting line location on foot from the Yacht Club, though it seems like there is. You would have to walk through Epcot (which will not yet be open to guests at race time) and many backstage areas not accessible to guests- though that might make it more fun! However, should you complete your race after Epcot's 9:00am opening and you have your theme park tickets or Magic Band with you and you plan on entering a theme park that day, walking back to your room is an option. I hope this information is helpful, Melissa! Please do not hesitate to ask any additional question you may have regarding Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend or your stay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts.

    Have a magical race!
