We are staying at the Yacht Club. Is it faster to take the boats to Epcot/HWS or the buses? Is there a boat and bus schedule posted online? If we want to be in a park for the magic hour, how early should we leave? Thanks!

    Rebecca,

Thanks for stopping by! I'd be happy to help you with your transportation question. I absolutely love both the Beach Club and Yacht Club for the convenience of its location. In order to get to either Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios from the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, you can use the boat transportation or walk. There are not buses running from these resorts to either of those theme parks. The walk to Epcot's International Gateway entrance (in between the United Kingdom and France pavilions in World Showcase) from the Yacht Club is about 10-15 minutes depending on your pace. The boat ride is about 20 minutes since it stops at several resorts along the way. The walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios is a bit longer, taking about 20-25 minutes and the boat ride is about the same. I will tell you that on our trip this past June, my husband and sons walked back to the resort, while my daughter and I rode the boat from Hollywood Studios and they actually beat us back since we had to wait for the boat. These times are estimated travel times only and do not include waiting time.

Personally, we enjoyed walking to both these parks since we could determine when we left and didn't have to wait for transportation. However, depending on whether you are exhausted after a day at the parks, you might consider the leisurely boat ride back.

Transportation, which includes the boat transportation, does begin one hour before park opening. So, if Extra Magic Hours begin at 8am, then the boats will start running around 7am. Keep in mind, though, that your boat dock may not be the first stop.

I hope this helps in the planning of your days.
