We are staying at Ft. Wilderness, and renting a golf cart for the week. How far can we travel in the golf carts when going to the theme parks. Will having the cart eliminate some of the transportation processes? How will this help us in getting places?

Hi Jenifer! Fort Wilderness is a wonderful place to stay.  We have grown to love the peacefulness in that area of Walt Disney World and I hope you will find the same!

The golf carts are strictly limited to the boundaries of the Fort Wilderness campgrounds.  You will be able to use them from the front gate area to the marina.  They help to eliminate the need for the internal bus system to get from one place to the other since this is a very large area.  To catch the buses to the parks and Downtown Disney you will need to get to the front of Fort Wilderness to the main bus depot. This is located next to the stables.  By using a golf cart this will save you time as you can go directly to the bus and not have to wait on the internal transportation.  There is a large parking area at the bus depot for the carts and covered waiting area.

You will enjoy having the cart to head to the swimming pools, Trading Posts (there are two),bike barn, outdoor movie area, marina, and Pioneer Hall and Trails End restaurant.  We enjoy taking evening rides through-out the loops to see the area as well.
