Staying at Ft. Wilderness next Sept and looking for info on golf cart renting. For budgeting purposes, how much is to rent a cart for 3 days (+tax)? Is the cart turned in daily or can it stay at the campsite? If we go to the parks, what do we do with it?

Hi Karen! The Fort Wilderness Resort is our go to location every fall when we bring our motor coach down to Florida. We love the atmosphere and ambience and the daily wildlife spotting it offers.

Renting a golf cart at this resort is definitely a plus whether you are staying in a cabin or an RV. The Golf Carts are mostly four seaters but they do also have a few six person carts. Those can't be reserved specifically and offered only on a first come basis. Reserve your cart a year in advance as they will run out especially during holidays and weekends. The daily rental rate is $59 but that does not include tax. Once you sign the paper work when you check in you will go and be assigned a cart. You will then be allowed to keep that cart at your RV site or cabin for the duration of the rental period and return it by 11am on the check-out day. There is an outside charging outlet at each cabin and an outlet on a post at each campsite to keep them charged.

If you need to take a bus or a boat to the parks you will find ample cart parking at the marina or the bus depot in the front of the resort. Many guests love decorating their cart during their stay. If it is a holiday time decorate it with festive holiday things. Any other time just do something special that is fun for you.
