We will be staying at the wilderness lodge 2/7 to 2/14, we have a woods view room. Can you tell me where we should request our room to be? Have small kids, so we would like to have a room that is pretty quiet. Thanks for all your help!

    Hi Dave!

I am so jealous!  The Wilderness Lodge is my absolute favorite resort at Walt Disney World.

In my experience, having a room with a "woods view" means you will have either a view of woodlands or of The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, the Disney Vacation Club property there.  Sometimes with a "woods view" room, you will be able to see the top of the Contemporary or the top of the Grand Floridian in addition to trees.

There are 7 floors in the main lobby building and 6 floors on the wings.  If you are worried about noise, I suggest requesting a room in the wings and not in the main lobby building.  One of my family's favorite places to eat at Walt Disney World is the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the lodge.  This is a western themed family style restaurant and is a lot of fun for the whole family; my boys especially enjoy the "horse races" typically held there.  However, that restaurant is actually opened to the lobby and can be fairly noisy.  There is also great music playing in the lobby, but you might not appreciate that if your room over looks the lobby and you want a very quiet room.

On a tangent, I suggest you look at what special activities will be held at the lodge when you are there.  My oldest son's favorite activity at any resort at Walt Disney World was the "duck race" held near the pool area.  If this is being held when you are visiting, your young children may enjoy this as well.

I hope you enjoy your time at the Wilderness Lodge and write back if you have any more questions!
