Hi, Staying at the Wilderness Lodge in Jan. without a car. How often do watertaxi's arrive for MK and how long do they take? What's the best (quickest) way to get to Epcot- bus or water taxi to MK or Contempory- resort monorail to Epcot monorail?Thx

    Hi Brian,

You are going to love Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It happens to be my all-time favorite resort with its majestic lobby and its Northern Pacific lodge feel. The location is also a huge selling point.

To get to Magic Kingdom by boat, it will take about 15 minutes. The boats arrive about every 20 minutes (possibly more often around park opening and closing). If you would like to take the bus, that trip takes only about 8-10 minutes.

Traveling to Epcot, you can either take the bus directly to Epcot from Wilderness Lodge or make a transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center via monorail. Taking the bus is about a 25 minute ride versus a 35-45 minute ride via bus/monorail. If you take the boat to Magic Kingdom, then transfer to the monorail, you will still have to change monorails at the Transportation and Ticket Center, thus adding more time. I would recommend taking the direct bus to Epcot to save you time and stress.

Keep in mind the time frames I have offered are simply estimations and are for travel time only and do not include time spent waiting for the transportation. As mentioned earlier, buses, boats, and monorails come about every 20 minutes if not sooner depending on the time of day. For other routes, a great tool is the "transportation wizard" at www.ourlaughingplace.com.

    Have a magical trip.
