we are staying at wilderness lodge 6/20-6/24, it will be our first visit to Disney. We will be bringing our own car, so my question are- what will be the fastest way to travel from resorts? Should we just use our car the whole time?

Hi, Teresa!  I like the flexibility of having a car when at WDW.   We always have a car when we go, and even if it sits for a day or 2, I like knowing I can drive if we feel like it.

When going to theme parks, the Disney transportation system is your best bet.   This way you are dropped off at the front gates and can avoid parking lot trams.   My only exception for this is if you are getting to Epcot bright and EARLY, then I like to drive and get a spot right in the front of the lot.

When going resort to resort for dining, you will find taking your car is easier.  By driving, you will not have to be transferring buses to get to your destination.  Just check in with the security guard when you get to the resort you are dining at and they will direct you to guest parking.

Other locations where I think a car is better:  water parks, Downtown Disney, and Wide World of Sports.

Enjoy your vacation at Wilderness Lodge!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
