I will be staying at Wilderness Lodge. Can I bring my own bike? Specifically, can I park it in my room and is there a bike trail connecting the Wilderness Lodge to the Fort Wilderness area? Is there anywhere else I am allowed to ride my bike? TY

    Hi Danielle! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh boy! Let the countdown begin! You are less than two weeks away until you arrive for a magical Walt Disney World vacation! I'm sure with all the planning that you have already done, you've set yourself up for an unforgettable stay.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite places to stay on-site. While you're within a short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom, it feels as though you are miles from the hustle and bustle of the parks. There is plenty to keep you busy at the resort, but also a ton of places to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

Danielle, you'll be happy to know that Disney does allow you to bring your bike with you. However, you will be required to secure your bike in your Disney Resort hotel room each night. Most resorts do not have a bike rack anywhere on-site, and Disney does not allow you to lock it against a tree or post around the resort.

While there is no dedicated bike trail at Wilderness Lodge, you should be able to ride around the resort at your leisure. This resort is not as spread out as some others are, so you may have limited space to do so. There is currently no trail that links Wilderness Lodge to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort due to construction that is underway. Hopefully, this path will reopen in the near future, and there will be another option to travel between the two resorts.

If you find yourself at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, bike rentals are available each day. They can be rented on a first-come, first-served basis. If you wanted more space to ride and didn't have a way to transport your bike there, this could be a viable option.

Danielle, I hope this information helps you plan for your stay! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
