Hi, if staying at Wilderness Lodge, best way to get around--boat to Contemporary and then walk/monorail to MK? Also, to go to Epcot, bus or boat to Contemporary and then monorail? Or would it be faster to take a bus to Epcot? Thank you, you guys are great

    Hi Marianne!

Getting to the Magic Kingdom from Wilderness Lodge,  you have the option either taking bus or a boat. If you are looking to save time, I would take the red flag boat that runs directly to the Magic Kingdom. The blue flag boat runs between Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, and Fort Wilderness, it's a good option if you want to ride the Monorail (I consider this an attraction all of its own).Just take the blue flag boat to the Contemporary and then make your way to the Monorail.  This route takes longer, but who can resist a ride on the monorail!?The bus is also very quick direct way, although less scenic, to travel to Magic Kingdom.

I'm going to let you in on one of my favorite ways to travel to Epcot especially at park opening and it's surprisingly not used that often.Take either method you wish to get to Magic Kingdom, from there take the bus that goes to Boardwalk resort. Then just take the short walk to Epcot by following the pathways at the back of the resort. You will enter Epcot through World Showcase at the International Gateway.  While World Showcase doesn't open until two hours after Future World at Epcot, International Gateway (located between the France and UK Pavilions) opens at the same time as the main entrance and is less crowded than the main entrance.

If this sounds a little confusing I would suggest taking the bus, even though it is typically shared with Fort Wilderness, it is a quick way to reach Epcot without having to change modes of  transportation. If you are wanting to arrive by Monorail, board the boat to Magic Kingdom take the Monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center and from there you will have to change Monorail lines to the one that goes directly to Epcot.I hope this helps!
