Hi Callie!
Sounds like you have a wonderful kiddo on your hands! You picked a great resort for your son's 5th birthday. It's one of my favorite! There are so many activities that he will enjoy at Fort Wilderness. You say he loves movies? How about a movie under the stars while munching on s'mores? Chip'n Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long happens nightly. Two bonfires are lit each night after sun-down and you can roast marshmallows and stuff your face with graham crackers and chocolate. Yum! Afterwards, there is a cowboy singalong with Chip and Dale. To end the evening, there is a movie under the stars. Sounds like fun, right? Check your resort activities sheet for times and for the movie schedule.
So, he likes to dress up? There is no better place to spend his birthday than at Disney, where you can dress up everyday! Does he like pirates? Make a reservation for him at the
Pirates League at the Magic Kingdom where they will transform your birthday boy into a genuine pirate and then he can parade around Adventureland with all of his fellow swashbucklers! You can call (407) WDW-CREW to make reservations.
How about participating in the Disney's Pirate Adventure? This activity is for ages 4-12 and the children sail around the Seven Seas Lagoon to several "ports of call" (the resorts around the lagoon) in search of pirate treasure! It's a fun scavenger hunt that includes a drink and snack at the end. To make reservations for this, call (407) WDW-DINE.
I hope your big birthday boy enjoys some magical celebrations!
Leslie
