We are staying at the Ft. Wilderness cabins in January 2020, and I'm thinking of making a character dining reservation at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. What is the best way for us to get between the Contemporary and Ft. Wilderness?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Christopher!

I love Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground so much that I try and find a way to visit pretty frequently when I'm on vacation. There is so much to see and do there and it feels like its own little world secluded from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. One of the best hidden gem dining locations is located at this Resort, so be sure to book your family a meal at Trail's End Restaurant! Every meal there is good, but brunch on the weekends is my favorite.

One of the things that's so great about staying at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is that it's really easy to get from there to wherever you need to go. It's centrally located, and it's actually one of the only Resort Hotels that offers transportation directly to a handful of other Resort Hotels, and lucky for you, one of them is Disney's Contemporary Resort. In the morning, head from your cabin to the boat launch and take whichever one comes first because they'll both get you where you need to go! The Blue Launch will take you to Disney's Contemporary Resort, and the Green Launch will take you to Magic Kingdom Park, which is just a short walk away from the Resort Hotel and Chef Mickey's. The walk is so short, that if the Green Launch boat comes first you should definitely take that one and walk instead of waiting for the Blue Launch boat and a direct trip. The only thing that can make it more convenient is if you rent a golf cart for the duration of your stay and park it at the boat launch in the morning so it's waiting for you when you get back!

    Have a magical day, Christopher!
