We are staying at the Wilderness Cabins in August 2011. I have heard we should rent a golf cart to get around the grounds. What is your advice?

    Hey Robin!

I stayed at the Cabins with my parents, my husband, my 9 month old daughter, my brother and sister-in-law and my 2 year old niece. So, in a word: YES. You want the golf cart!

We were there soon after my dad had completed chemo, so we had to have a little help for him. If you have any special needs in your family, the golf cart is a must!

Of course, there are buses in and out and around all through Fort Wilderness. So you can hop on those anytime you want. And Disney buses are really good about being on time. You won't have to wait more than maybe 15 minutes.

But Fort Wilderness is ENORMOUS (just google Fort Wilderness map and take a gander!) so having a golf cart is really helpful for you when you want to do things on YOUR schedule. Especially if you're going to be spending a decent amount of time there. AND it's so pretty there that just driving around in your golf cart is an adventure in itself!

Fort Wilderness is the first resort I ever stayed at--when I was 3 years old. So, it is easily my favorite. Have so much fun and feel free to ask any more specific questions. I'd love to help!
