We are staying at Ft. Wilderness and we have breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's...what is the easiest way to get there?

    Hi Vicky!

There are basically two ways to get there from Fort Wilderness and one or the other may be faster depending on your exact location within the campground.

My favorite method is to walk or take the internal bus system to the Fort Wilderness boat dock on Bay Lake.  There you can take a boat that runs between Fort Wilderness, the Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary Resort.  It's a very relaxing and enjoyable trip from Fort Wilderness to the Contemporary, where Chef Mickey's is.

The other option is to take a bus from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom.  When you get to the Magic Kingdom bus stop, you can walk about 5 to 10 minutes to the Contemporary and Chef Mickey's.  Or you walk about 5 minutes to the Magic Kingdom's monorail station and catch a resort monorail to the Contemporary.

Chef Mickey's is a great way to start the day.  My children, ages 5 and 10, absolutely love the restaurant.  Since you are staying at Fort  Wilderness, you should also consider seeing the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.  It is a lot of fun!  Another suggestion is the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge; it's a great family restaurant and a "must do" on our trips.

    Have a magical vacation!
