Hi Richard,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I think starting your summer with a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth is a fantastic plan! Most of our family visits have been during the summer months and we have the best memories of early mornings and late nights in the theme parks plus lots of splashtastic fun in the pool at our Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.
Extra Magic Hours are a fabulous benefit of staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. They happen either one hour before a park opens or two hours after a park closes. When our children were younger we spent more time at the morning Extra Magic Hours but now that they are both college-aged we like to stay as late as we are allowed in the parks!
You must have the
Park Hopper option on your Theme Park Tickets to visit more than one theme park in the same day. This also applies to Extra Magic Hours. Sometimes we will plan our visits around which parks have Extra Magic Hours but other times we only take advantage of Extra Magic Hours if they are occurring in the park we have already planned to visit. I hope you will be able to include some of the Extra Magic Hours in your plans!
Richard, thank you for visiting us with your question. I hope you will let us know if we can help you with any other planning questions before your visit.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H.
