Hello Jeff,
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Disney's Port Orleans Resort is so much fun, between
Riverside and the
French Quarter, there is so much to see and do, it's practically a vacation on its own!
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separate ticketed event that takes over the entire
Magic Kingdom with ghoulish fun. Guests can ride attractions, trick-or-treat throughout the park, enjoy special parades, shows, and fireworks, and meet their favorite characters dressed in their Halloween costumes. Because the event takes place throughout the entire park, Magic Kingdom has to close early to regular guests. If you don't have a ticket, you will need to leave the park when it officially closes for the evening. There is an hour between the official park closing and the start of the Halloween party, so you can certainly hop into a line for your last attraction minutes before 6:00 PM or take your time exploring shops as you exit the park for the evening.
Party guests begin arriving at 4:00 PM on the evening of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so you'll definitely notice an increase in crowds during the last couple hours of the day. If you have a
Park Hopper Option added to your tickets, I recommend spending the morning in Magic Kingdom and then heading to another park for the evening. If not, this is a great time to enjoy the fantastic pools at your resort hotel, visit
River Roost to catch
Yeeha Bob Jackson performing, or head to
Disney Springs for an evening of fun.
Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!
Diane
