I am staying at the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve Hotel. I have been given conflicting answers to my question. The question is: Can I get a Keys to the World Card at the Swan Reserve Hotel registration desk? I need the card for my various reservations.

Hi Leo, and welcome to planDisney!

I can completely understand the confusion here. The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve sits in a unique position. It operates under the Marriott brand but still receives many of the same benefits as other Disney Resorts Collection hotels. I actually reached out to a Cast Member on your behalf and, like you, received some mixed information. Here’s what I’ve been able to confirm:

While you’ll receive a Marriott room key upon check-in at the Swan Reserve, it’s my understanding that, since the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve are categorized as “Other Select Deluxe Hotels,” you should be able to obtain a Key to the World card at the Disney Service Desk or Disney Planning Center. These desks are located inside or near the Disney Gift Shop at the Swan and also in the Dolphin, not the front desk, where you would check in. According to both resorts’ websites, these desks can assist with ticketing, dining reservations, Lightning Lane selections, and more, which makes them a great resource during your stay. And if, for some reason, you’re unable to get a Key to the World card there, you can always stop by any Guest Relations location outside of the theme parks to have one printed for you.

That said, you actually don’t need a Key to the World card at all. If you have the My Disney Experience app downloaded, you can set up Disney MagicMobile service right from your smartphone. This digital pass allows you to tap in at Mickey touch points to enter the parks or Lightning Lane entrances. iPhone users can even use Express Mode, meaning you can tap without unlocking your phone or opening the app. It’s incredibly convenient, and it’s how my family and I access the parks on most of our visits.

You could also consider purchasing a MagicBand+ if you prefer something a little more fun (and collectible). MagicBand+ works the same way as a Key to the World card or MagicMobile, while also interacting with nighttime spectaculars, rides, statues, and more. Plus, you can find one that matches your favorite Disney character, attraction, or personal style, always a fun way to add a touch of personality to your trip.

I hope this helps clear things up, Leo. If you’d like, I’d be happy to share some additional tips about making the most of your stay at the Swan Reserve. It’s one of my favorite resort areas thanks to its quick access to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

    See you real soon!
