We are staying at two hotels both on Disney property during our trip. First hotel one night, second hotel 4 nights. If we purchase a refillable mug at the first hotel will it carry over so it can be used the following days at the next hotel?

    Hiya Beth,

Welcome back to planDisney! I love split stays at Walt Disney World Resort! With so many incredible resorts in the Walt Disney World Resort Collection, a split stay is the ideal way to experience as many as possible. One minute, you can stay in the French Riviera at Disney’s Riviera Resort; the next, you are living in the “Big Easy” at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter. It is like having the best of multiple worlds!

The last time I did a split stay, I purchased a resort refillable mug at Disney’s Riviera Resort, and it was one of the best purchases I made during my trip! The mug was perfect for grabbing a soft drink by the pool during mid-day breaks and grabbing a hot chocolate while riding the Disney Skyliner in the morning. The great news is that when we transferred to our next resort hotel for our split stay, we could still use our mug at our next resort! Once you activate a refillable mug, you have 14 days from activation to use your refillable mugs as much as you want at any Walt Disney World Resort quick-service location. So, since your stay is five days long, you should be good to go!

I hope this was helpful, Beth! Before I let you go, to make your split stay transition “practically perfect in every way,” don’t forget to take advantage of the luggage transfer service at your first resort hotel. This is essential for split stays so you don’t have to carry your luggage from resort to resort (and can focus on enjoying your trip). When you check in at your first resort, ask a Cast Member at Bell Services what time you need to have your luggage downstairs so they can transfer it, and voila! I also recommend keeping any items, such as swimwear or medications, you might need throughout the day in your Theme Park bag—that way, you aren’t without something while you wait for luggage transfer to be completed.

Please come back and see us if you need anything else!

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
