HI there, William - welcome to
planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by - we love to help Guests just like you plan their very own, very magical,
Walt Disney World Resort vacations!
I'm so excited to hEAR about your upcoming trip this October! Have you checked out
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party yet? This separately ticketed after hours event at Magic Kingdom Park is chock full of spooky fun, delicious treats, and special entertainment from some of Mickey's most sinister friends. It might be a great way to add some extra pixie dust to your October visit!
While it is situated right in the middle of the magic, the Walt Disney World Swan is not an official Disney Resort, and thus you'll be missing some MagicBand functionality. If your MagicBand is linked to your My Disney Experience account along with valid Theme Park Admission (e.g., tickets or an Annual Pass) and a Park Pass Reservation, you will still be able to use your MagicBand to tap in to the Theme Park entrance, and will also use your band to access Lightning Lanes, and to link PhotoPass photos with photographers or on rides to your account.
Unfortunately, using a MagicBand to make purchases is a feature only available to Disney Resort Guests. Additionally, unlike Disney Resorts where you can use a MagicBand to access your Resort Room, you will instead receive a standard hotel key card at the Swan. The Walt Disney World Swan Hotel is still a great place to call home during your stay. It's a fantastic location with easy access to Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Disney's BoardWalk, and more!
I hope this information is helpful as you plan for your upcoming trip -
let us know if you have any additional questions!
