Hey Javier, welcome to planDisney!
I confirmed with a Cast Member that bus transportation would be provided at the
Swan and Dolphin Resorts for
Wine & Dine 2025. The official
Digital Event & Expo Guide for Wine & Dine Weekend has not been posted yet, so I looked back at some previous event guides to get an idea of the bus schedule. For the 2025 Springtime Surprise Weekend, Resort transportation operated from the Resorts to the starting line from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM. Buses then started picking up runners from the finish line at 6:30 AM. The buses continued picking up runners from the finish line for several hours, but since the race distances get longer as the weekend goes on, the bus service times changed based on how long runners were on the course. When you arrive at your Resort, ask the Front Desk or look for signage in the lobby about the runDisney weekend.
In previous years, the finish line was not too far from the starting area. So, your spectators may want to catch a bus closer to 5:00 AM and watch runners start the race, then head over to the spectator area at the finish line to wait. I can’t say how long your friends and family will be waiting at the finish line, but they may get to see runners taking off from the start and then some of the first runners finishing!
If your spectators decide to wait until a little later to arrive at the finish line, I have a few tips from my runDisney experiences. The official Event Guide will have a link to runner tracking for any event longer than 5K. Once the tracking goes live, your family can look you up by name or bib number to track you during the race. The tracking updates as you cross timing mats, for example, as you cross the start line, and usually every 5K or so. If you’re doing the untimed 5K or your family wants real-time tracking, I recommend sharing your location through your phone. My parents track me from home during my runDisney events, and I love getting texts from my parents telling me “
Spaceship Earth, just ahead” in EPCOT or “Watch out for stormtroopers!” as I’ve run through
Galaxy’s Edge. Sharing locations has been especially useful when I’ve been spectating because I was able to track my runner making their way towards the end of the course, and then I could get my phone ready for photos or videos as they ran past me towards the finish line.
I hope this helps with your planning, Javier. Usually, when the Event Guide is posted, runDisney will send an email to participants, but you can also watch social media for posts. Read through the guide carefully, because the details I described may change for future race weekends, so you’ll want to know the most up-to-date information for your event. Have a fantastic race weekend, and if you have any more questions, we’d love to help at
planDisney!
