We are staying at All Star Sports and have reservations at 'Ohana for 7:40am. What is the best way to get there in time ? Taking transportation to Animal Kingdom and then to the restaurant (AK magic hours start at 8am)? We have our own car, could we drive?

    Hi Erin:

Driving is an option, but since you are not staying at the Polynesian, you will be issued a Parking Pass that is good for three hours.  Enough time for you to dine and stroll around the Resort, but you won't be able to leave your car in the parking lot if you plan to spend the day in the Parks after your meal.  So if you don't mind driving to the Parks after breakfast, driving may be your best option since you won't have to budget extra time for the bus.

Another option  is your suggestion to take the bus to Animal Kingdom and transfer to the Polynesian bus since Animal Kingdom buses will start running an hour prior to opening and Animal Kingdom has early morning extra magic hours the day in questions.

There are special early morning buses for Guests with character breakfasts that are unofficially called "breakfast buses."  You can ask your Resort when you check in what time those buses leave and confirm that there will be a bus to the Polynesian.  In my experience, I've found these buses to be a bit limited, and I prefer not to rely on them.

If you are anything like me and wouldn't mind the extra sleep, I strongly suggest taking a taxi.  Taxis are generally found right outside of the main door to your Resort.

    Enjoy your vacation.
