Hello we are staying at the All Star Music for New Years eve. It will be our arrival day. We were intrested in knowing if the resort have a party or should we just beat the large crowds at the parks. We are traveling with a 5 year old

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kimberly!

New Year’s Eve holds so much hope, celebration, and magic, and I can’t think of a better place to ring in the new year than the Walt Disney World Resort!

While I haven’t been lucky enough to celebrate New Year’s at Walt Disney World, I have been for other holidays, and in my experience, there are small celebrations at the resort hotels on holidays. We don’t have those details yet, but I bet if you checked in with the hotel in December, you might be able to find out about New Year’s plans; you can find the contact information for Disney’s All-Star Music Resort on their website. I also recommend reading the Disney Parks Blog as you count down to your trip, as they share lots of helpful planning information.

There are events planned for several Walt Disney World Resort hotels, which you can read about in this Disney Parks Blog article. Last year, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort held a New Year’s Eve Beach Bash at Clementine’s Beach; this resort is incredible to visit during the holidays, as the campers go all out with decorating their campsites and cabins.

In the theme parks, you can catch the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks in Magic Kingdom Park, parties throughout the World Showcase and a midnight fireworks display at Epcot, and brand new offerings at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (though no fireworks there for the safety and well-being of the animals who call that park home). If you do decide to celebrate in a theme park, you’re right to expect large crowds and long lines, so plan to arrive early (the parks do close when they reach capacity), and pack water and plenty of snacks for your kiddo.

Happy New Year, Kimberly! I hope your family has a fabulous celebration and makes so many memories during your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
