    Staying @ All Star Movies 9/24-10/01. Debating renting a car vs. the Disney transportation to & from the parks. We have a 6 & 4 yr. old & plan to come back mid day each day. Is the time savings worth the rental cost. We will have diamond pa

    Hi Scott,

    Welcome to the Moms Panel!  I may be in the minority on this one, but I would opt for the car rental.  While the Disney transportation system is more cost effective, I believe that the convenience of having transportation available on your time-table is priceless.  Especially with young children, the idea of waiting to squeeze into a packed bus at the end of a long day is not my ideal way to unwind.  

    Now this isn't to say that we haven't had times where we've rented a car and not touched it for a couple days...sometimes based on timing and destinations it was just as easy to use the busses.  We often like to go off property for shopping or dining, so having a car at our disposal is ideal for my family.

    So, if it's within the means I say go for it!  If it's going to put a stretch on the vacation dollars and you have to give something else us to do this....use the Disney transportation and get the most out of your vacation.
