Staying at SSR & hoping to eat at California Grill. What is best time to reserve table (hoping by window) & are you able to see fireworks from your table. Also, if viewing from observation deck, are there chairs or do you have to stand?

    Hello, Judith!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The California Grill is my favorite restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort! I am always in awe of the incredible views that floor-to-ceiling windows provide. My husband and I prefer to dine early, so we make our dining reservations as close to 6 p.m. as possible. This increases our chances of snagging a window table and taking in the amazing sunset with an unobstructed view of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon.

While we have dined later and had many opportunities to view Wishes Nighttime Spectacular from our window table, my husband and I both prefer to view this fireworks display from the outside observation deck. I just love hearing the booms from the fireworks and seeing the sky above Magic Kingdom illuminated. After our early dinner, we spend some time enjoying Disney's Contemporary Resort before heading back upstairs to the California Grill's private observation deck. Guests who have dined that evening are welcome to return to view Wishes later in the evening. However, this area does not have seating so you will be standing during the 12 minute show.

I hope this answers your question, Judith, and you enjoy the California Grill as much as I do. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance as you plan your vacation.

    Have a magical day!
