Welcome to planDisney, Sharon.
In between our Theme Parks days, my wife and I love nothing more than catching a wave at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or enjoying a lazy float on Cross Country Creek at
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. As Crush would say, "It's totally awesome, dude!"
You'll be pleased to know that complimentary towels are available at Disney Water Parks for all Guests who are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. If you're at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, then simply head to
Singapore Sal's and you'll be able to scan your MagicBand or ticket. If you're at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park (currently closed for refurbishment), then trek through the snow to
Beach Haus and do the same thing. Just make sure that your hotel reservations are linked to your
My Disney Experience account. You can also rent lockers from these same locations so that you can safely store your valuables during your day.
Sharon, I'd recommend you arrive at the water park 20-30 minutes before it opens. As a Disney Resort Guest, you'll be able to take advantage of the complimentary bus service, which begins 45 minutes prior to park opening. You can view the opening hours on
this calendar. Arriving early will actually give you an opportunity to pick up your towels, rent a locker, put your swimwear on, put your stuff in your locker, and be prepared for that moment when the rope drops. You can then head to whatever ride you want before the lines get busy. I always love to make a beeline for
Crush 'n' Gusher or
Summit Plummet. Those attractions will wake you up in the morning! Who needs coffee? If you don't want to rush off to an attraction straight away, then you could grab yourself a beach chair in an ideal location. These chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and you don't have to pay a fee. We usually just place our towels on them and jet off for some fun!
It might help you to look at a map of
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and
Disney's Blizzard Beach beforehand. That way, you can get an idea of where everything is located.
Once you're water park adventures have come to an end for the day, you might want to head off to Disney Springs for a well-deserved and much-needed meal. Nothing works up the appetite like swimming all day! I recently had the pleasure of eating at
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'. Sharon, the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits and Church Lady Deviled Eggs are out of this world! You should also check out
Gideon's Bakehouse while you're in the area. The cookies are immense in every way! You'll definitely want to share.
I hope you have a wonderful time, Sharon. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
ChEARS,
Mike
