Adam from Kent Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Staying on site , if booking TRON virtual Q 7am Can we choose time slots eg after 3pm ? If successful, can we then cancel MK reservation for AM, book into another park & park hop in the afternoon to ride TRON? It is the only reason we want to go to MK

    Hello again, Adam!

I'm Happy as the dwarf to continue our conversation about best practices for making your My Disney Experience mobile app work for you on your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

TRON Lightcycle / Run is the newest thrill ride at Magic Kingdom Park and can currently be accessed by joining a virtual queue and/or purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane reservation. I understand experiencing this attraction is your number one must-do at Magic Kingdom Park, so let's dig a little deeper into the logistics of each option.

All Guests with a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom Park can attempt to join the virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run at 7:00 a.m. each morning. The 7:00 a.m. virtual queue tends to fill up in seconds, so I recommend confirming your party in the app by 6:55 a.m. and clicking the "Refresh" button at 7:00 a.m. on the dot. Once you click to join the virtual queue, you are either given a boarding group number along with an estimated wait time or told that the 7:00 a.m. virtual queue is full. You do not get to choose your boarding group or the time that it boards. Once your boarding group is called, you have 60 minutes to scan in at the attraction's entrance. In my experience, late arrivals are not permitted.

There is a second opportunity to join the virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run at 1:00 p.m. each day. Joining the 1:00 p.m. virtual queue requires you to be physically inside Magic Kingdom Park and, if you joined the 7:00 a.m. virtual queue, you have to cancel your boarding group to be eligible for the 1:00 p.m. virtual queue. You cannot experience TRON Lightcycle / Run via the virtual queue without a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom Park.

Purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane for TRON Lightcycle / Run allows you to select a return time and does not require a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom Park. Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can purchase up to two Individual Lightning Lanes (for different attractions) beginning at 7:00 a.m. via the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the app's homepage > Tip Board > Select Park > scroll to attraction); all other Guests can purchase at park opening.

It sounds like an Individual Lightning Lane purchase is the best match for your family's TRON dreams, Adam, because it gives you the power to select a late afternoon/evening return time. Entering the Grid at night is, in the words of my tween, "totally epic!" It also allows you to visit another theme park in the morning and park hop to Magic Kingdom Park after 2:00 p.m. Just keep in mind that Magic Kingdom Park (and TRON) closes at 6:00 p.m. for general admission Guests on nights that Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place.

I hope this information helps lead Team Blue, with the help of your family, to victory.

    Plan magic; planDisney.
