Hi Barbara, and welcome to planDisney. First, I want to sincerely thank your family for your service and sacrifice. It means so much, and I’m grateful you’ve chosen to spend some well-deserved time at
Walt Disney World Resort.
Visiting in December brings an extra layer of joy to your vacation. Between the towering Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A., the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, and the incredible entertainment offerings that make the season come alive, your trip will certainly be one to remember.
Since your Shades of Green reservation is under your daughter’s name, the best way for you to make Advance Dining Reservations is to ensure that you and your daughter are connected in your
Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience. Once connected, you will be able to make and share dining reservations, Lightning Lane selections, and more across your party. To do this,
log into your account, navigate to Family & Friends, by hovering over My Disney Experience, and selecting the “My Family & Friends” tab. On the next screen, select “Add a Guest” by entering her information. Once you are linked, you’ll both want to ensure you have toggled on the “Allow to view and modify all of your plans” button and “Allow to make plans for the Guests you manage” to be able to manage and share plans seamlessly. If your daughter is the one managing the reservation, she can add you to the plans, and then you’ll see the shared reservations in your own account. This is exactly how my family manages trips when grandparents join us, or when we travel with friends, we link up so everyone is in sync.
Since you’re traveling during the holidays, I recommend some dining locations that will allow you to enjoy the amazing food and the amazing holiday atmosphere. Places like
Narccoosse’s and
California Grill will provide a delicious meal, but also an amazing view of the nighttime spectaculars of Magic Kingdom if you time your reservation right. And if you’re attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park, keep in mind that you may want a lighter meal before the party so you can enjoy all the holiday treats inside the park. And at EPCOT, I highly recommend carving out time to enjoy the Holiday Kitchens during the Festival. You can sample seasonal food and drinks from around the world while enjoying the
Candlelight Processional, one of my favorite holiday traditions at Walt Disney World.
Barbara, thank you again for your question and for the service your family provides. If you’d like more personalized recommendations, such as dining strategies or a plan for using Lightning Lane Multi Pass to maximize your time during this busy season, please don’t hesitate to come back and ask me directly.
I’d be honored to help you plan your practically perfect holiday vacation.
Respectfully,
Brent
