Welcome to planDisney, John!
Thanks for visiting us today, and 'Thank You’ from my military family to yours! My family just got back from a trip where we used the Military Salute promotional ticket, and we are already itching to go back! Thankfully, we have two more days left on our 6-day ticket, so we are looking to squeeze in a weekend trip with an extended resort day sometime over the summer. We’re just waiting for my husband to receive his confirmed block leave dates. We are an “in the parks” type of family, so we are really excited to focus on our resort this time and upgrade from our traditional
Value Resort bookings.
Now, while I do see that there is
theme park reservation availability, the Military Salute Promotional ticket has a
few blockout dates. Those blackout dates include April 13, 2025, through April 26, 2025, and November 23, 2025, through November 29, 2025. Since your trip falls within those blockout dates, you cannot schedule your theme park reservations for a portion of your visit. I know working with a military schedule can be difficult, but you may want to contact
Shades of Green to see if there is any availability to shift your dates so that they can correspond with your theme park tickets.
John, if your schedule does not have that flexibility, you can still schedule reservations using your existing ticket beginning April 27, 2025, and save the remaining dates for a future visit. So long as you use the remaining dates of your Military Salute ticket before December 19, 2025. If you need some out-of-the-theme park activities, I have a few to share with you today. My family loves scheduling a
Fishing Excursion or a dining experience at a different resort on days we aren’t visiting the theme parks.
Boma for breakfast and
‘Ohana for dinner are great options. We also enjoy strolling through
Disney Springs while my daughter loops us into shopping at World of Disney. Honestly, there’s so much to do outside of the theme parks that any day at Disney, is better than a day at home.
I hope this provides some clarity, and if you need anything else or any other recommendations, please feel free to reach out again!
See ya real soon,
Shantel
