Staying at Saratoga Springs for a week. Traveling at near peak season and I'm worried about bus delays due to crowds. Never used Disney buses. Is the Disney transportation reliable enough to forgo a rental car for backup? Wife wants to save money.

    Hi Mark,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. How fun to be planning a trip to Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa! This resort is so relaxing, and feels like a home away from home.

The Disney bus system is very reliable. You will be able to get everywhere that you want to go at Walt Disney World using this system. I should mention; however, that if you are used to having a car and driving yourself, of course the bus will take longer. You may have to wait a little while for a bus, which you do not have to do with your own car. Also, at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, there are internal bus stops. This is good because it means that you do not have to walk too far to get to a bus stop; however, it does mean that sometimes there are other stops that will have to be made as you head out of or into your resort. Also, as you mention, if you are traveling when a lot of other guests are, the buses can have lots of people and you might need to stand. This is especially true if you are traveling at a busy time of day, such as leaving a theme park right after the nighttime fireworks!

Also, remember that from Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, access to Disney Springs is provided by a lovely and calming boat ride.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Mark! Have a wonderful time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
