We are staying at Saratoga Springs the week before our cruise and taking Disney transport to the cruise and returning back to Saratoga Springs for a few days after, can we park at the resort

    Hi Barron,

Great to see you back at planDisney with an important question for planning your upcoming land-and-sea vacation. How exciting to bookend a fabulous Disney Cruise Line voyage with a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort! I’m happy to help you figure out what’s best for smooth sailing in your plans.

I confirmed with a friendly Cast Member today that you cannot leave your vehicle at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa for the duration of your cruise. The parking policy for Disney Resort Collection Hotels is that spaces are reserved for Guests currently staying at that resort or temporarily visiting for a dining or activity reservation. It was exciting to hear that there are no longer parking fees for overnight resort Guests, but you cannot leave your vehicle there unattended while on your cruise, unfortunately.

If you are bringing your own car to the Walt Disney World Resort for this trip, you can drive to Port Canaveral and park at the parking garage for the duration of your cruise. I’ve made this trip many times, and it’s a direct route on a main highway to the Port from the Orlando area. The parking garage opens at 10:15a.m. and please see the schedule of parking fees here, depending on the length of your cruise. When you disembark, your vehicle is safely nearby and ready to return to Walt Disney World for some more fun.

If you decide to drive yourself and need to cancel the planned ground transportation arranged through Disney between The Walt Disney World Resort and Port Canaveral, please call Disney Cruise Line and they can finalize this for you to ensure you won’t be charged the per-person fee for the transport.

If you are renting a vehicle, you can return it at Disney’s Car Care Center and still take the ground transportation planned from Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort to the port. The Car Care Center is in the Magic Kingdom Resort area and their shuttle will take you anywhere on property once returning the vehicle. You can rent a vehicle for the second part of your stay at the same location when you return from your cruise. The ground transportation you arranged from your cruise will return you to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and the front desk team can help you get to the Car Care Center from there to pick up the new vehicle for the last portion of your vacation.

I hope this gives you some options to finalize your special vacation, Barron. Please bring us any further questions about your exciting trip; we answer questions about Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line every day!

Wishing you a practically perfect vacation,
    Amy
