We're staying at Saratoga Springs the 3rd week in April. Would it be easier to drive to the parks each day or use the bus system?. We don't have a Park Hopper, so we will spend a full day in each of the main parks, with a mid-day break for pool/rest time

    Hi Shelly,

If you have a car, parking is free for resort guests.  While the bus system is great, considering how many guests use it each day, driving to the parks is a much quicker way to get around.  It will be especially convenient to have a car when you decide to leave the parks for a mid-afternoon break.  Cars also come in handy if you decide to dine at a restaurant in any of the resorts on property.

Having said that, our family has almost always had to rely on Walt Disney World transportation, and it's worked well for us.  If you are flying down, and are thinking of renting a car specifically to have at Walt Disney World, it's not really necessary.  However, if you are driving and will have one at your disposal, you might as well use it.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
