I am staying at the Riviera resort in December using my sisters dvc points. Even though I am not the member, will my family and I be able to access the community hall and take part in some of the activities they have there?

    Hi Jill!

Welcome to planDisney!  I'm so glad you stopped by with a question about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort.  Spending the holidays at Disney's Riviera Resort this year and getting to share the magic of your sister's Disney Vacation Club Membership? Talk about a double dose of holiday cheer!  You must be getting so excited!

The holidays are one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort. With incredible decorations, festive treats, and special offerings, it feels like everything is covered in an extra layer of pixie dust, and Disney's Riviera Resort is no exception –– just like the Resort itself, the holiday decorations are the perfect blend of European sophistication and Disney fun!  Last year, the Resort also featured some fantastic treats for the holiday season, including a Peppermint Mousse from Le Petit Cafe that was perfection.  For the full list of festive treats that will be available during your upcoming visit, be sure to keep an eye out for this year's Disney Parks Blog's Foodie Guide to Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort, due out later this fall.

As it just so happens, the Community Halls located at many Disney Vacation Club Resorts are one of my favorite Resort features, too –– with arts and crafts, games, equipment rentals, and much more, they're the perfect place to enjoy some downtime when you're not in the parks.  And the best part?  You don't need to be a Disney Vacation Club Member to enjoy everything these spaces have to offer you just need to be a Guest of that particular Resort.  Once you arrive at the Resort, be sure to stop by the activities board, which can usually be found around the Front Desk in the Main Lobby to find a list of activities that will be available in the Resort's Community Hall –– the Eventi Room –– throughout your stay.

Thanks so much for bringing your question to planDisney, Jill.  If you think of new questions as your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort approaches, I hope you'll visit us again –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
