We are staying at the Riviera and have a brunch reservation at Grand Floridian. What would be the best transportation option?

    Hi Jane,

Welcome to planDisney! You must be excited that your Walt Disney World vacation is so close now.

You have a couple of options for using the complimentary Disney transportation from the beautiful Riviera Resort to the elegant Grand Floridian.

One of the great features of Riviera is its easy access to the Skyliner. One option for you is to hop on the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios -- you will transfer to the Hollywood Studios Skyliner at the Caribbean Beach station -- and then board a bus for the Grand Floridian at Hollywood Studios. The buses are right next to the Skyliner station.

This is probably the fastest route.

Or you can take a bus directly from Riviera to Magic Kingdom. From there, take the resort monorail, a water taxi or the walking path to Grand Floridian. Note that the resort monorail stops at the Contemporary, the Transportation and Ticket Center, and the Polynesian before it reaches the Grand Floridian, so it can take 30 minutes or more to make the circuit. My family usually opts for the 15-minute walk.

I would allow at least an hour of transportation time, maybe a little more. I don't like to stress about being late, and if you are early, you can wander the grounds of the Grand Floridian and see all the recent updates. The lobby looks even more gorgeous than before.

I have one more suggestion for your stay at Riviera, Jane: All the dining there is great, but don't miss out on Bar Riva for a meal, snack, mocktail or cocktail. My family will travel to the Riviera Resort just to eat there. We love the arancini, the signature burger and the grilled chicken pasta. It's so much more than a pool bar.

I hope that helps, Jane. Thanks for stopping by planDisney, and have a fabulous time!
