Ahoy there, Mary! It sounds like you are planning the most magical vacation combinations ever!
Disney's Riviera and
Polynesian Village Resorts as bookends to your time aboard a
Disney Cruise Line ship... I don't think it could get any better.
Let's talk parking, though. It may be one little glitch in your otherwise practically perfect plans.
Parking is available to Guests at Disney Resorts while staying at the hotel. You will not be allowed to keep your car at either resort while you are on your cruise.
I know this is not what you had hoped to hear, but you can easily drive to Port Canaveral. It is a pretty easy journey to get to the port from Walt Disney World Resort. Once you are on Highway 528 (also known as the "Beeline"), it is a straight shot to the port, typically taking about an hour. The views are great as you pass the Kennedy Space Center. And when you start crossing the bridges into Cocoa Beach and see the red funnels of your Disney ship peeking across the horizon, the thrill is real.
When you arrive at the port, you can pull up by the curb and unload the luggage you want delivered to your stateroom later in the day. There are port staff ready to help unload your car and get you ready to sail. After your bags are checked, you can park at the adjacent parking deck. The price for parking has always seemed reasonable, and I appreciate coming back to the deck, where my car has been sheltered from the sun.
If you have already arranged for ground transportation to Port Canaveral, you can call and cancel this reservation. Please just be sure to pay attention to the
policy and timing to avoid a cancellation fee, which is currently imposed if you cancel within 7 days of your departure.
I hope even with the change in your transportation plans, it will be a jolly holiday, Mary! If you have any other questions as you get ready for your land-and-sea vacation of my dreams, please come see us again at
