If you are staying in the resorts and make a reservation for chef mickeys for like 7:30 and transportation only runs 1 hr. after the parks close at 7 , how do you get back to your resort?

    Hi Connie,

Thanks for your great question. I'm happy to help!

You shouldn't have any trouble getting back to your resort after dinner at Chef Mickey's. You are visiting in late October, when Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on a number of nights. I'm sure that's why the park closing is listed for 7 p.m.

Even though the park closes to guests without party tickets at 7 p.m. on those nights, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party continues until midnight for those with the special event tickets. I'm confident that's what will be happening on the night you mentioned.

On party nights, transportation will continue to run from Magic Kingdom to the resorts until at least 1 a.m.

So after your dinner with Chef Mickey, you can either walk to the Magic Kingdom bus station (it takes 5-10 minutes) or take the monorail back to the park entrance and catch a ride back to your resort.

Or, if you prefer, you can catch a bus for Downtown Disney at the Contemporary and then transfer to your resort's bus at Downtown Disney. But I think that would take a good bit longer than simply returning to the bus station at Magic Kingdom.

I hope that clarifies things for you. Please let me know if I can be of any other assistance. We love helping guests plan their magical Walt Disney World vacations. Enjoy!
