Staying @ resort 4 nights, arrival day would be a half day. Kids are 3 & 6. Want at least 1 day @ Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom and want a 3 or 4 day pass. Should we do a park the half day we arrive? Should we do MK 1 or 2 days, or add HS or Epcot?

    Hello Erica,

I am thrilled that you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel to seek our expertise as you plan your magical trip to Walt Disney World. I love helping families get the most fun and excitement out of their time in the parks.

My personal recommendation for your kids' ages would be to do two days at Magic Kingdom and one day at Disney's Animal Kingdom. My family tends to spend our arrival day either enjoying the resort pool or Disney Springs, so that we are ready and rested for our first day in the parks. Travel with little ones can be exhausting, so a more low-key day after you get to your resort may be more ideal. However, this is up to your family and your expectations. Keep in mind you could also upgrade your tickets to include the park hopper option, which would allow you to visit more than one theme park a day, thus allowing you to explore all of the theme parks without adding any additional days.

Take a look at the official page for traveling with pre-schoolers and kids. This offers great planning tools such as sample itineraries and suggestions for attractions best suited for the little ones. I have also included a great video about Magic Kingdom and all the fun things you can experience there.

    Happy Planning!
