I am staying at a resort hotel starting on July 5 for 6 nights so I thought I could make restaurant reservations. But when I look at availability in the calendar all the dates after July 2 appear to not be open yet for anything. How can I make reservations

Hey there, Judith, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for dropping by with your question!

Judith, your dining reservation window opens 60 days before your Walt Disney World arrival date. Hence why you were unable to see dining availability after July 2 as the window was not open yet. With your arrival date of July 5, your dining reservation window begins on May 6, 2022, at 5:45 a.m. EST. Since you are staying in a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you can make dining reservations for your entire vacation when your window opens.

Your dining reservations can be made through your My Disney Experience Account. Be sure that you log in to your My Disney Experience account before making your Dining reservations to ensure that your reservations properly link to your account and show in your upcoming plans. I also recommend logging in a few minutes early on Friday morning to ensure you are ready to go the second the window opens. Once signed in, you should see a bar under “Judith’s Plans and Tickets” which has a Dining option. If you hover over the dining option, you can “Make a Reservation”. After you click the Make a Reservation option, the system will take you to the restaurant listing where you can choose your desired restaurant and search for availability on your desired date/time for your party size. After you have chosen your reservation time, complete the remaining prompts, and you’ll be all set! If you have difficulty finding availability for your desired restaurant, I recommend looking for availability for days near the end of your vacation. Many times you can find availability for these days as you’ll have a head start on non-resort guests when your reservation window opens.

Making dining reservations can be an overwhelming process, so I recommend having a good idea of which restaurants you want when you log on and searching for your most desired reservation first. If you’ve never been to the resort before, I recommend viewing the restaurant menus online to see what restaurants you’d like to try. My family loves Tusker House Restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park and Topolino’s Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at Disney’s Riviera Resort. But before you fill up your schedule with dining reservations, make sure you save plenty of time for all of the Disney Snacks available throughout the Theme Parks.

I hope this helps, Judith! If you have any more questions while planning your Walt Disney World Vacation, come back by and let me know! I’m always happy to help!

    Until Next Time,
