Hiya, Jeff! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so excited to see you back here with another great question. It's so fun to chat Disney with my pals, pal!
Well, I don't know about you, but for me, this year is
flying by, and it seems as if your holiday vacation is fast approaching! The holiday season is my very favorite time to visit Walt Disney World Resort. With the beautiful holiday decorations, twinkling lights, Christmas music and the smell of peppermint and gingerbread in the air, there just seems to be
extra magic at The Most Magical Place on Earth. No matter what time of year it is, the dining experiences at
Disney's Contemporary Resort and
Disney's Wilderness Lodge are at the top of my family's must-do list, but during the holiday season, visits to the Contemporary's gingerbread display and Wilderness Lodge's gorgeous, grand Christmas tree are a MUST. I'm thrilled to help you navigate your way to the holiday magic!
When I stayed at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort this summer, unfortunately, the
water transportation from the Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge was not running, and the Cast Member I asked did not know when the boats will return to the Contemporary's marina. So, when we wanted to get from the Contemporary to our dining reservation at Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, we walked to Magic Kingdom Park and then took the slow-moving, scenic boat ride from Magic Kingdom over to Wilderness Lodge. You can either walk or take the monorail to and from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom Park and then the fabulous boat ride to and from Wilderness Lodge.
Since things can change at any time, I recommend asking a Cast Member if the boats from the Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge are running as soon as you arrive.
While you are at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, I must recommend making a stop at
Geyser Point Bar & Grill. It is the most serene and beautiful setting with great cocktails and the best Bison Cheeseburger I've ever had!
Jeff, while I know that this likely wasn't the answer you were hoping for, I hope it was at least helpful! Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you have along your magical planning journey. You've got a friend in me!
Wishing you a very merry adventure,
Mandy
