hi there, if we are staying on resort and have a dining plan are we able to get packed lunches to take out on day trips off resort if we know we will not be dining there at all after breakfast ?

Hi Claire! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Ooooh, a day trip; I want to see your travel plans and then have you book an exciting Florida excursion for me!

The best answer I can give is sort of. You won't find complete pre-boxed meals waiting to go on an adventure like you will at a certain coffee chain, but you can absolutely find meal plan items that would be fine for later. Of course it depends on what time you're planning on leaving Walt Disney World Resort, and from where. Most menus switch to their lunch and dinner options around 11 a.m., and the lunch options that are ready to go during breakfast hours are a bit limited. Although, I can absolutely vouch that un-buttered Mickey Waffles hold up VERY well and still taste amazing even when eaten unheated later.

Your best option of creating a meal boxed to go would be at a quick service location from either your resort hotel, a nearby resort hotel, or from select locations at Disney Springs. So start checking the menus now to get a good idea of what you can do. Most resort quick service locations have at least one grill area making hot options as well as as cold case with grab & go items like salads, fruit, pasta salads, and more. You'll also find pastries, desserts, and dry cereals, as well as an array of bottled beverages. From Disney Springs, both Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express would be good options for ordering something that would travel well for later.

If you need more options, most resort gift shops have a small selection of groceries like sandwich supplies, and you can always ship or order groceries to your hotel. And if you do happen to miss out on using your entitlements for these two meals, the credits are valid until 11:59 p.m. of your check-out day.

I hope this helped your plans a bit, Claire, and we'll see you real soon!
