Welcome BACK, Wendy!
It's so great to see you again! Mine is a Military Family too, and I am so grateful for all the ways that Disney shows its appreciation for our troops!
All guests who would like to pre-book
FastPass+ attraction reservations prior to their arrival do need to have valid Disney Theme Park admission tickets purchased and linked to their My Disney Experience profiles prior to making their selections. I've purchased these fantastic
U.S. Military multi-day promotional tickets every which they're sold, and I'm going to pass along every Disney Military tip and trick I've picked up along the way:
~ You can in fact purchase these tickets in advance. First, call your base/post MWR/ITT/Ticket Office and ask if they sell these tickets. We're currently stationed on the West Coast and it seems that the bases out here only sell tickets to Disneyland Resort; however, you should have no problems if you're zoned for Tri-Care East. If your base does sell them, ask if they have any on hand or if you'll have to order them. No matter what they say go to that base and purchase them as soon as you can. Bases that stock them can (and do) run out, and locations that need to order them usually have a two-week turn around time.
~ Pro Tip: If your base is currently sold out, check with other military installations in your area to see if they have any.
And Note: The tickets that you'll receive from base are called Exchange Certificates. You'll be able to link the code on each exchange ticket into your
My Disney Experience Profile as soon as you get them and be able to make FastPass+ reservations with them too. But you will also need to activate these tickets at a
Guest Relations location prior to entering your first park, so do be sure to bring these certificates and a valid Military ID with you on your first Disney Day.
~ You can also order these tickets in advance through
Shades of Green, which is an Armed Forces Recreation Center located on Walt Disney World Resort property. This is another one to act on immediately because the process will take a few days: You'll call their Ticket office and ask for an order form, which they'll email to you. Once returned, they'll verify your information, which has a three-day turn around time. Then, they'll call you back when they are ready to charge your card and mail your tickets to you, which can take up to a week to receive. The nice thing about these tickets is they are delivered to you already activated so you get to skip stopping by Guest Relations.
~ When purchasing the tickets through a Military Ticket Office or Shades of Green, you won't have to pay any Sales Tax.
~ Did you know that we can add a
Disney Dining Plan to Disney Resort Hotel reservations while taking advantage of a great
Military Room Rate?
~ And lastly, there's even a special Military rate for
Memory Maker! Check out the details at the bottom section of the
Military Ticket info page.
I hope this helped better plan your Disney Days, Wendy, and We'll See You Real Soon!
