Hi we are staying on property oct 10 , 2021 for a week. If 60 days prior is Aug 11? what time that day May I make a dining reservations? May I book all dining reservations that day? Will fast pass bookings for rides be available?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Debbie! I'm so glad you've stopped by with your Walt Disney World vacation planning question. October is such a great time to visit. I love how the parks are all decked out for Halloween, it makes for some great pictures.

Debbie, right now, Guests are able to make advanced dining reservations 60 days prior to the check-in day of their vacation. I did a quick search and you'll want to double-check my math here, but it looks like 60 days before your check-in day is going to be Wednesday, August 11th. You can make reservations for the length of your vacation up to 10 days. You'll want to be up and at em' because you can start making dining reservations bright and early at 6:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time online or at 7:00 a.m. on the phone by calling (407)WDW-DINE. If you are looking for a dinner suggestion, my current go-to right now is The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. There's really something on the menu for everyone but I think the best menu choice is the lobster roll served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. It's a perfect meal!

Right now, Debbie, the FastPass+ program has been suspended. It has not yet returned to us after the shutdown and reopening last year. With the limited capacity, wait times are still pretty minimal which is why I don't think that program has returned. There has been no announcement as to if or when it might return. I've been keeping a close eye over on the Disney Parks Blog for updates but nothing yet. With the parks returning to their new normal, I think we will probably see an update about FastPasses soon. In the meantime, if you are wanting to enjoy your favorite attractions with little to no wait times, I suggest arriving early at the theme parks each morning. My family and I like to arrive about 45 minutes prior to the scheduled opening time. This gives us plenty of time to park, go through security and head to our first attraction of the day before the park is technically opened. I'm always so amazed at how much we are able to cross off of our must-do list by lunchtime when we get an early start.

Debbie, I hope you are able to make all of the dining reservations you'd like for your upcoming vacation. Disney dining is such a fun part of the vacation. If you have any other planning questions, I'd love for you to come back and ask me. I'm happy to help!

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
