Hi I am staying on property. I have mobility issues in previous stays I have requested a shower chair . I noticed that the resort has upgraded baths with glass doors . Are roll in showers still with curtains and can I still request shower chair?

Hello there, Margaret! Welcome back to planDisney! We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and allowing us to help you plan another vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!

One of my personal reasons for returning to Walt Disney World Resort year after year is the amazing amount of accessibility provided to Guests with disabilities! Cast Members truly do their best to provide services and accommodations that assist all Guests in having the most magical stay possible!

This includes the various accommodations available at the various Disney Resort hotels! As someone that also has mobility related disabilities, I also request a shower chair whenever I stay with the Disney Resort Collections. With many of the Disney Resort hotel refurbishments, there have been a lot of changes to Guest rooms. One area you will see many changes is in the bathroom. It is true that many resorts now feature glass doors instead of curtains, however, true roll-in showers that are wheelchair-accessible do not have glass doors. That being said, there are many different types of accessible rooms so be sure to call prior to your stay and discuss the specific options you need with a Cast Member!

Additionally, you should have absolutely no problem requesting a shower chair! Just call down to the front desk upon arrival and a Cast Member will bring one up to your room. This is generally true of any other accessibility requests so be sure to ask if you have any other needs!

Best of luck continuing to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you along the way as well!
