Hello! We are staying on property for the first 4 days of our vacation, and then locally for the next 5. I know the memory maker will still work for the extra 5 days, but is it assigned to my band that will continue to work after we check out? Or a card?

Hi, Chelsea! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Your Memory Maker entitlement and MagicBands are not actually tied to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel stay and will not cease functioning once your stay ends. They are instead linked to your My Disney Experience account, which holds all of your essential vacation information. Just make sure that you link your Memory Maker to your My Disney Experience. If you purchased it online, it may have linked automatically.

I try to think of My Disney Experience as the top tier in a MyMagic+ flow chart. I imagine branches coming off this top tier labeled for the hotel stay, theme park tickets, FastPass+, Advanced Dining Reservations, and Memory Maker. Once you have checked out of your hotel, the MagicBand will no longer open the door to your room, but it still can be used to access your theme park ticket, any FastPass+ selections you have scheduled and your Memory Maker. You can continue to use the MagicBand to link to the Memory Maker anytime you have a PhotoPass picture taken. Your photos will be available to be viewed for up to 45 days from the date they were taken. However, note that once you download the first photo from your Memory Maker, you have 30 days to capture more photos before the Memory Maker entitlement expires. If you do lose your MagicBand or do not have it with you at any time, you can still have PhotoPass pictures taken. The photographer will give you a PhotoPass card, which you can link to your Memory Maker to claim the photos.

I hope this information helps you make the most of Memory Maker. Please stop by again if you have any further questions.
