Howdy, Kensie, and welcome to planDisney!
If you’re staying at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter, you’re in for such a charming and peaceful resort experience. The pool area is a lot of fun, especially with the sea-serpent slide, but one thing to know ahead of time is that there aren’t traditional lockers at the French Quarter pool. Most guests just keep their belongings on a chair or bring a small waterproof bag if they want to keep something close by. It’s a very relaxed environment, so you should feel comfortable, but I always recommend keeping valuables in your room or bringing only what you truly need for the pool.
Since French Quarter and
Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside are sister resorts, you get a nice bonus, as you can use the pools at both resorts. That means you’re welcome to enjoy not only the Doubloon Lagoon pool at French Quarter, but also the amazing feature pool at Riverside,
Ol’ Man Island. Many guests love wandering over to Riverside for a change of scenery, especially because it’s a gorgeous walk along the Sassagoula River. You can also hop on the internal bus if you prefer not to walk. The pool at Riverside tends to be more lively than the pool at French Quarter, so I'd plan to arrive early to be able to secure lounge chairs.
It’s one of the perks of staying at either Port Orleans resorts. You get double the dining, double the pools, and double the charm. So feel free to mix things up during your stay and enjoy both sides of the bayou.
Have a wonderful time at the Port Orleans resorts. Stop by and see us again if you need additional planning help for your upcoming trip.
Toodles,
Korliss
