We will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside 12/21-12/28. Can we walk to anything from there or will we always be required to take the Disney transportation? Thanks in advance!

Hi, Fridakis!   From Port Orleans Riverside, you can take a nice walk down to its sister resort, Port Orleans French Quarter.  It is worth the trip to visit Sassagoula Floatworks (food court) for some tasty Beignets!  This walk along the Sassagoula River takes about 10 minutes.

Other than Downtown Disney, which you can take a boat to from Port Orleans, you will need to use the Disney bus system to travel around property.   Buses run approximately every 20 minutes.

Enjoy the holidays in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
