We are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside resort, and have some friends who are staying at the contemporary. Are we able to drive over to the contemporary resort and park for free so that we can ride into the parks with our friends?

Howdy, Kyle! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I adore the Port Orleans resorts for their plus sized amenities on a great budget. French Quarter is my favorite, but Riverside has a beautiful pool and gorgeous walking trails.

If you’d like to visit friends at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (friends are more fun!) you may park there for three hours as a courtesy. That’s enough time to share a meal, enjoy a resort activity or some other delight. If you will be gone longer than that, you should take a bus from Port Orleans Riverside to Magic Kingdom, and enjoy the shaded-sidewalk trip (about a five minute walk in total) to the Contemporary. Your friends can meet you at the exterior bus stop, or you can dine together at the Contempo Cafe before extending your journey. Perhaps y’all can cram into a watercraft on the back of the resort and catch a Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue dinner one evening at Fort Wilderness? (Don’t forget to make a dining reservation!)

If there is anything else I can help you with for your magical vacation, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me, too! ~ Lindsey P.
