Hi Emilie! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you brought your great question to us.
Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside is one of my favorite resorts at the
Walt Disney World Resort! In fact, their Royal Guest Rooms are probably my favorite rooms at the resort. If it fits into your schedule, be sure to catch
Yehaa Bob Jackson at River Roost Lounge. Talk about a fun show with a legend! You'll also likely want to walk on over to
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter and stop by
Scat Cat's Club - Lounge. There is great food, delicious drinks, and usually live entertainment on the weekends. Plus, they have beignets. And if you don't get beignets, I'm not sure you can say you have visited the Port Orleans resorts!
One of the wonderful amenities available to you at the resort you've chosen is the convenient, relaxing, and complimentary
Disney Water Transportation from your resort to
Disney Springs. This opens up a whole new world of dining and shopping opportunities! Some of the best restaurants on property are here..and that's a major win for you! This water transportation usually starts running around 10 a.m. EST, but I would check the schedule when you arrive at the resort as this can vary depending on multiple factors. The ride itself takes about twenty minutes. However, to ensure that you have enough time to enjoy your boat ride and walk over to the restaurant, I would be at the boat dock at your resort no later than 11 a.m. This way, you can take in the sights and sounds (and maybe some tastes) of Disney Springs before your lunch!
I'm so excited for you!
House of Blues Restaurant & Bar is such a great venue. The food is wonderful and so is the atmosphere. And their
Bread Pudding (subject to availability) is the chef's kiss! Now
I want to tag along!
Emilie, I hope you have a wonderful vacation! If House of Blues doesn't fill you up, be sure to stop by
Swirls on the Water for a delicious DOLE Whip Flight.
Be sure to
reach out again if you have any other questions.
Everybody digs a swingin' cat,
Matt
