Hi Alyssa! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Your vacation is SO close! I know you must be over-the-moon excited and busy with last-minute preparations. You are going to have a blast!
Chef Mickey's is easily one of my favorite character dining experiences on Walt Disney World Resort property. My family has dined there many times and each time we come away with new magical memories. Once, when my son was a toddler, he decided to sit on the floor when Pluto came to greet us. Pluto got right down on the floor next to him! Fortunately, I had my camera ready and snapped some quick pictures of this moment. It was so special!
You have a few options for getting to this yummy destination from Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. First,
Walt Disney World bus transportation starts quite early. I've been on the bus at 6:30 a.m. before, heading to the theme parks. If you were able to catch a 6:30 a.m. bus to Magic Kingdom Park, you could then walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort (it's a short walk from the bus stop) for your dining reservation. For this route, you would probably be cutting it short on time.
Your other two options are taking a taxi or using
Disney's Minnie Van Service. Minnie Van Service begins at 6:30 a.m. each day, so I would speak with a Cast Member the night before about the best way to ensure the Minnie Van arrived first thing that morning. You would then be transported directly to Disney's Contemporary Resort, saving you quite a bit of time. This is probably the option I would choose myself!
I hope this helps with your travels, Alyssa! Let us know if you have any other questions.
