We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside, and i paid extra for the River View room, but is there a difference in the hotel room or is it just the view I paid extra for?

    Hi Mellissa,

Port Orleans Riverside is a fun resort. We just stayed there in January!

When you booked a River View room, you are paying for the view. There is no difference in the lay-out of amenities of the room when compared to a standard room.

While  a view of the river is nice, you have to weigh it against the extra overall cost. How much time will you be in your room? And when you are there, will you be sitting at the table to look at the view?

Also, note that moderate resorts such as Port Orleans Riverside have exterior corridors. Therefore, the value of your view is reduced especially when other guests are walking by your window.

If you feel that you'd rather save money and book a standard room, just call to modify your reservation. If you are unsure, I would suggest looking at photos of the resort and rooms. Try AllEars.Net for great pictures of the WDW resorts!

    Enjoy a wonderful vacation!
