hi there, we will be staying at the port orleans riverside and are in the middle of the great debate regarding bussing it or renting a car. We heard that the bus could be up to an hour ride to parks and what if we were park hopping that day? Any thoughts

    Hi Kathie!

My son and I stayed in Port Orleans Riverside at the end of February 2011 and we loved it!  It is an incredible and beautiful Resort.  It is also very large and it has four Disney bus stops (North, South, East, and West).  As much as I love Disney Transportation, I have to tell you that it will take about two hours a day total travel time to get between Port Orleans Riverside to a Park and back.  If you plan on using Disney Transportation to Park hop, then you will need to add more travel time into your plan.  If you have a rental car, then your total travel time per day should be an hour or less.  The one exception to this is the Magic  Kingdom because it is actually faster to take the bus because it drops you off at the Magic Kingdom gates.  So if you want to have more time in the Parks and less time spend getting to a Park, then I would recommend renting a car for your Walt Disney World vacation.

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is extra special and full of Disney magic!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
